Microsoft has been building their IoT ecosystems since their $5 billion investment in IoT in 2018. So, it came as no surprise when they announced their acquisition of CyberX. With an ever growing emphasis on smart manufacturing and IoT ecosystems, Microsoft is confident that CyberX will complement their existing Azure IoT to provide heighten security and visibility for customers.
“Gaining this visibility is not only critical for understanding where security risks may exist and then mitigating those risks, but it is also a fundamental step to securely enable smart manufacturing, smart grid, and other digitisation use cases across production facilities and the supply chain,” says Michal Bravermen-Blumenstyk, CVP and CTO of cloud and AI security and Sam George, CVP of cloud and AI Azure IoT in their blog announcement.
Clearly, Microsoft still has many plans to come in the world of IoT technology and the vast security offerings of their Azure platform.
